With an armful of accolades and plaudits, unflinching critical acclaim, successful exhibitions in far-flung locations and fans waiting on his every shutter release, Andrew Brooks has every right to occupy a haughty pedestal and to look down on us mere mortals who are untouched by the spirits of the muses. Fact is, though, he's a thoroughly decent, almost lovable, chap. But then maybe that's how he's made it as a photographer who seems to be granted access to secret, private and inaccessible places to write his priceless images onto his flash cards. He doesn't need to be persuasive; you're just won over by his talent and his enthusiasm, whether you're visiting his exhibition or trying to stop him passing the none shall pass sign. Prepare to be taken where photography has rarely been before.
